【Advance Richmond Will Oppose the BC NDP】
David Eby claims that instability from the United States makes an early election necessary. Yet by calling a provincial election for October 24, only seven days after Richmond’s municipal election, he is creating further instability here at home.
After increasing taxes and adding to the burden on families, the BC NDP is now asking taxpayers to pay for an unnecessary early election. British Columbians need tax relief and better public services, not more political games at their expense.
Richmond’s municipal election must come first. Local candidates are already discussing public safety, housing, traffic, taxes and the future of our city. An overlapping provincial campaign will compete for media attention, volunteers, donations and, most importantly, the attention of voters.
This is unfair to local candidates and to residents trying to make an informed decision about who should represent them at City Hall.
Advance Richmond will not allow Richmond’s local issues to be pushed aside. Many of us became involved by opposing the proposed injection site and low-barrier supportive housing. We understand how provincial policies can directly affect our neighbourhoods.
During both campaigns, we will support provincial candidates representing Richmond who are prepared to defeat the NDP. We will also challenge municipal candidates who support bringing NDP-aligned policies into City Hall.
An Advance Richmond victory on October 17 will be Richmond’s first clear response to David Eby: our city is ready for change.

David Eby聲稱，美國局勢不穩，因此有必要提前舉行省選。可是，他把省選定於10月24日，與列治文市選只相隔七日，反而在本地製造更多不穩定。
BC NDP不斷加稅，加重家庭負擔，如今更要納稅人為一場毫無必要的提前省選埋單。卑詩省民需要的是減輕稅務負擔和改善公共服務，而不是由納稅人付費的政治算計。
列治文市選必須獲得應有的重視。各候選人正在討論公共安全、房屋、交通、稅務及城市未來等重要議題。同期舉行省選，將會分散傳媒、義工、捐款資源，更會分散選民的注意力。這對市選候選人並不公平，也不利於市民充分了解誰最適合代表他們進入市議會。
Advance Richmond不會容許列治文的本地議題被掩蓋。我們不少成員正是因為反對建議中的毒品注射站及低門檻支援房屋而投身公共事務。我們清楚知道，省府政策可以直接影響每一個社區。
在市選及省選期間，我們將支持代表列治文並願意擊敗NDP的省選候選人。我們也會挑戰那些支持把NDP路線帶入市議會的市選候選人。
Advance Richmond在10月17日取得勝利，將是列治文向David Eby作出的第一個清晰回應：列治文已經準備好迎接改變。
