【Thank You, Richmond | Six Advance Richmond Candidates Elected】
Thank you to everyone who voted for Advance Richmond. Preliminary results from all 51 voting stations show that three of our council candidates and three of our school trustee candidates have been elected:
🔹 City Council Gary Law | 15,759 votes — the highest vote total of any council candidate Sheldon Starrett | 13,576 votes Kevin Lai | 12,006 votes
🔹 School Board Rod Belleza | 17,762 votes Danny Chang | 16,773 votes Dean Billings | 16,475 votes
We extend special thanks to William Wang, affectionately known as “Da Lao Wang,” and to every candidate who stood alongside us: Sam Wang, Grace Tsang, Wallace Pong, Phyllis Tang, Willy Sinconegue and Sophia Woo. Your time, hard work and commitment matter, regardless of the result. These six seats reflect the efforts of our entire team.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to MLA Teresa Wat for her strong support and encouragement. We look forward to continuing to work closely together to serve the people of Richmond.
To every volunteer who knocked on doors, delivered leaflets, installed signs, joined our street campaigns or served as a scrutineer: thank you. To the families, friends and residents who supported us throughout this campaign: we could not have done this without you.
We did not achieve our goal of securing majorities on both City Council and the School Board. We must acknowledge that honestly. The six seats entrusted to us carry real responsibilities. Our elected representatives will work to deliver our commitments, hold decision-makers accountable and cooperate with colleagues to achieve results for Richmond.
We also congratulate the mayor, councillors and school trustees elected in this election, and thank everyone who put their name forward to serve.
The election is over. Our work for Richmond continues. Thank you.
